Nov 2005

Things really don't change. As far back as 2005, Caroline was worrying old ladies on the beach by being under dressed. I'm so glad I blogged during my pregnancies because all of these details would have been forgotten.

Neither Boy nor Girl.....Boo Hoo!
I had my doctor's appointment yesterday where I forgot to bring my health book, my ultrasounds results, and various other papers. The doctor told me that it's obvious this isn't my first baby. Anyway, my rapid weight gain slowed to a super duper 1.5 kilos (3 lbs) for an entire month. This is much better than my previous rate of 1 kilo per week! Anyway, I'm fine, but baby is still baby and not baby boy or baby girl. That news will arrive Dec. 12 (sorry Tinna!!) Think of it as a lovely way to get us through the lul from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Our weekend was fantastic and the weather was perfect. So perfect in fact, that Caroline and I enjoyed our Sunday morning on the beach swimming and playing- Caroline in underpants giving old ladies heart attacks-  and watching the big kites flying through the sky.

6 years ago in October

I'm going to start re-publishing old blog posts, begining with Oct 2005 . We hadn't known for very long that Freddy was on the way (we didn't even know he was a boy!) and we were over the moon that another little baby would be welcomed into the family. I haven't read this in years and I had to laugh that even 6 years ago I was describing our Saturdays as "superb."  *

I had my second ultrasound yesterday afternoon and what a difference just two weeks makes! The baby was moving all about this time. I could see everything- facial features, ribs, the spine, arms, legs, the two sides of the brain, the heart chambers, and a little stomach. He/she is perfect! The kids were so excited to see the picture. Moojie (7 yrs)  came running up and snatched the ultrasound picture out of my hands. Our weekend was superb. On Saturday we went to Sintra and walked around at the base of where one would start up to the castle. It is all re-done with new trails and better barriers. The best change for me is the new clean bathrooms, so the day wasn't ruined by rushing back home. We discovered a chestnut tree and gathered chestnuts, which took up quite a bit of time. Has anyone seen the spikey things on a chestnut shell? They hurt!

I made my famous chestnut curry for dinner and Pai and I saw Kingdom of Heaven* in the evening. Sunday was a lazy Sunday.

* I have no memory of this, and don't know what that movie is.
