Musical Mornings

We got confirmation yesterday that there is an opening for Freddy in the music school, so he'll be starting cello in the Fall.

Moojie is working on guitar every day, and dividing his time between guitar and the beach with tennis thrown in a few times a week.

We're heading out now for Zita's clarinet recital as she finishes her third year of playing.

My dream of having a musical family seems to be coming true just when I had given up and stopped pushing it.  Hmmmm,  maybe there's something to that.

33 Weeks

I'm trying out the photo editor on my phone instead of uploading to my desktop and using Picasa.

It's this or nothing as we get closer to our trip.

It was Inevitable

Despite best attempts,  there was no stopping this guy from crawling.

32 weeks

4 kids home all day means no opportunity to get on the computer and edit these.  I'll post them for now,  and go back and edit a group of them in one go. That might be on Friday,  or it might be when Seb starts school...

And no,  I could not find a clean white onesie. Things are really starting to slip around here.

She's Off!

Zita left this morning on her school trip.  She has been going non-stop lately yet is still a bundle of energy.  Just bearing witness to her life exhausts me.

When she gets back, she'll need to practice practice practice for her clarinet recital, and get packed for the States.

One week to go!

Last Day of School

Not only is today the last day of school, it's Zita last day in her current school. She loved this place; I love this place; we all love this place.  It's always sad to move on,  but what a great four years she has had.

Freddy had a fantastic year in first grade and will not have any "manos" (that's siblings) with him next year for the first time ever.

The endurance race that is the month of June holds only 5 more parties, 1 school show, 1 national exam, 1 clarinet concert, 3 doctor appointments,  and packing. Then it will be time to celebrate the real beginning of Summer. I can just imagine the finish line, with my mom and sister in the arrivals area of SFO, waving and pointing us out to the cousins. Then and only then will I take a deep breath and most likely weep.

Seb is such a wiggle worm.

31 Weeks

It's all abou the teeth! If you're looking at this on a portable device, I suggest you rotate it. Blogger continues to be possessed.

Other than having very obvious teeth with a fifth just coming through the gums, our Seb is a major wiggle worm. He is never ever ever still. He twists and turns and arches his back and tries to get down when being held. The exception is if I'm moving around myself. He's happy to just go about the day if I'm constantly walking or going somewhere. When he's on the floor, he just rolls, reaches, and squirms until he decides he wants back up again. Pretty much everyone who holds him winds up saying "where do you want to go, Seb?"

The car is still hit and miss.

He is ridiculously close to crawling, but I have been sabotaging all progress until after our flight. Long haul flights with crawling babies is just about the worst thing.

Pool Season in Full Swing

Zita is home from her orchestra trip. How we missed our girl!
Here are a few shots from our afternoon at the pool this past weekend.
Freddy wanted me to get a
picture of him walking on water.

These kids have it so rough.

The Quinta Weekends Continue Part 1

Oops- This has been sitting in draft mode for days.

We had a wonderfully chilly San Franciscoesque weekend at the farm.
For the first time ever, Seb actually noticed the horses and was kicking his legs and grunting until we carried him closer to get a better look. He looks hypnotized by the warm nose behind him.
Who needs a stroller when Daddy's shoulders have the best view?
There is only one bottle fed calf this year. He's called "Moomali" and almost as cute as Seb. The kids jump out of bed to help make his bottle and feed him.

 Thistles were everywhere
 wildflowers were too
Sebby is getting too heavy for Freddy and Zita to carry around. Freddy rarely gives up, though.
Zita has outgrown the booster and drives so well now. She worked on starting on hills, and tight turns.

Mooji is one happy guy on his bike
