Moojie ran the annual 3k Destak race from the Estoril Casino to Cascais this morning.
It started pouring so finish-line spectators were sparse.
It was just like last year in that two crazy-fast runners crossed the finish line first, followed by a running club group, and then came Moojie! He rounded the corner in a group of 5 and made a break-away to cross well ahead.
His time from last year was 13:05 seconds and the clock wasn't running this year. Moojie caught the time on his watch and shaved off almost 4 minutes.
A little Google conversion revealed that he was keeping a 5-minute-mile pace. I guess all that tennis is doing something.
Here he is crossing last year- he looks 6 years younger :(
This has nothing to do with the race or Moojie, but just look at how beautiful this ship looked against the water behind the finish line. It reminds me of the last scene from Goonies.
He does look so so so much younger last year - that was a crazy comparison. That is great that he had breakaway capacity at the end - all his working out certainly did pay off. Is he holding up a certificate of completion?
ReplyDeleteHe's holding up his number. I couldn't find safety pins in the mad rush of morning so he had to crumple the number and run with it in his pocket.
